Installation Notes

Drain coolant into a clean container. Note: Do not reuse old coolant if it appears discoloured or contains sediment.

Remove auxiliary components such as the serpentine belt tensioner and any obstructing hoses to access the pump mounting bolts.

Unbolt the old pump using the correct socket size. Gasket material may stick to the block — scrape gently with a plastic-safe tool.

Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with a lint-free cloth. Any residual gasket material will compromise the seal.

Position the new pump with gasket facing the block. Align all bolt holes before tightening.

Torque bolts in a cross pattern to approximately 25–30 Nm (18–22 ft-lbs). Do not over-torque; cast iron can crack.

Reinstall all components in reverse order. Ensure hose clamps are tight and belts are properly tensioned.

Refill coolant with OE or equivalent specification fluid. Bleed air from the system by running the engine at idle for 5–10 minutes with the heater on.

Check for leaks around the gasket joint and pump shaft seal. Allow the engine to cool fully before final inspection.

Clear any fault codes related to coolant temperature if required by your model's ECU.
