Installation Notes
Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 2–4 hours
- Disconnect negative battery terminal and allow engine to cool for 30+ minutes.
- Remove upper intake plenum (air intake and associated hoses) to access intake manifold.
- Unbolt intake manifold from engine block — note bolt torque sequence and angles.
- Scrape old gasket material cleanly from manifold and engine block surfaces using a plastic scraper.
- Clean surfaces with degreaser and allow to dry completely.
- Position new gaskets on engine block studs (left and right sides).
- Refit intake manifold and hand-tighten bolts in a cross-pattern.
- Torque bolts in sequence to 23–25 Nm (17–18 lb-ft) — refer to service manual for your specific engine code.
- Reattach all coolant hoses, vacuum lines, and intake ducting.
- Reconnect battery terminal. Start engine and check for leaks idling at 2,000 rpm for 5 minutes.
