Overview
Your Land Rover Freelander LR2 (L359) relies on a precise cooling system to maintain optimal operating temperature during demanding terrain and extended driving. The radiator coolant hoses are critical components that circulate coolant between the engine block and radiator, and degradation can lead to overheating, loss of performance, and costly engine damage.
These OE-quality replacement hoses restore full cooling efficiency. Available as upper (LR000931) or lower (LR007413) units, they are manufactured to exact OEM specifications and engineered from durable rubber compound resistant to high-temperature coolant flow and engine vibration. Each hose features precision-molded fittings that mate perfectly with your L359's intake and outlet ports.
Whether you're addressing visible cracks, weeping seals, or preventative maintenance ahead of an expedition, these hoses deliver the same thermal performance as factory originals—with the reassurance of a 12-month warranty and our 30-day money-back guarantee.

Installation
Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45–90 minutes
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal and allow the engine to cool completely (minimum 30 minutes).
- Raise and secure the vehicle on jack stands; remove undertray if necessary for lower hose access.
- Position a drain pan beneath the radiator. Loosen the radiator drain plug and allow coolant to drain into the pan.
- Identify the hose to be replaced (upper runs from thermostat housing to radiator top inlet; lower runs from radiator outlet to water pump).
- Loosen hose clamps at both ends using a hose clamp tool or flathead screwdriver; slide clamps clear of the connection points.
- Gently twist and separate the old hose from its fittings. Note the routing path for correct reinstallation.
- Clean both connection ports with a soft cloth to remove any scale or debris; inspect rubber seals on the fitting ends.
- Slide hose clamps onto the new hose approximately 1 inch from each end.
- Press the new hose fully onto both fittings, rotating slightly to ensure complete seating. Clamps should sit approximately 0.25 inch from the hose end.
- Tighten clamps in a cross pattern (if two clamps per hose) to 18–22 Nm (13–16 ft·lb)—snug but not over-tightened, which can crush the hose.
- Refill the radiator with coolant (50/50 mix of Pentosin or equivalent and distilled water); top up the expansion tank to the MAX line.
- Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature. Check for leaks around both connection points and the drain plug.
- Turn off the engine, allow it to cool, and top up the expansion tank again to ensure proper fluid level.
⚠️ Important: Always use fresh 50/50 premixed coolant (Pentosin or equivalent). Never reuse drained coolant, as it may contain contaminants. Ensure hose clamps are snug but not over-tightened; excessive force can split the hose. If coolant leaks after installation, stop the engine immediately and allow it to cool before rechecking clamp tightness.
