Installation Notes
Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 20–30 Minutes
- Park your X1 in a well-lit, sheltered area. Turn off the engine and allow mirrors to cool for 5 minutes if the vehicle has been in direct sunlight.
- Gently clean both mirror surrounds with a microfiber cloth and automotive soap. Dry thoroughly and wipe with a lint-free cloth to remove all dust and residue.
- Carefully peel away the protective backing from the adhesive tabs on the reverse side of the left mirror cover.
- Align the cover with the mirror surround, starting from the top edge. Apply gentle downward pressure, working from top to bottom to avoid air bubbles.
- Hold firmly in place for 30 seconds. Repeat the process with the right mirror cover.
- Allow adhesive to cure for 24 hours before exposing mirrors to water or extreme temperature changes.
⚠️ Temperature Tip: For best adhesion, apply covers when ambient temperature is between 50–85°F (10–29°C). Cold surfaces may reduce initial grip; warm mirrors slightly with a hair dryer on low if needed.
