- Disconnect battery negative terminal and depressurize fuel system via Schrader valve (fuel rail).
- Remove fuel pump unit access cover or drop fuel tank per factory manual.
- Disconnect fuel feed and return lines; secure clamps to prevent spillage.
- Unbolt fuel pump housing from fuel tank using 10mm socket; note bolt torque (typically 15–20 Nm).
- Carefully lift pump unit clear; inspect old seal for damage pattern (dry rot, compression marks).
- Clean housing bore and pump flange surfaces with lint-free cloth; remove any debris or fuel residue.
- Install new seal on pump flange, ensuring even seating around entire circumference.
- Reinstall pump unit into tank bore; torque mounting bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern to 15–20 Nm.
- Reconnect fuel lines and tighten clamps firmly (fuel leaks at connections are the #1 post-service issue).
- Reinstall fuel tank access cover or raise fuel tank back into position; secure all fasteners.
