Installation

Steps

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent accidental engagement.
Remove the plastic engine cover and access panel to expose the belt drive area.
Using a belt tool or 13mm socket, rotate the automatic tensioner to relieve tension and remove the old drive belt.
Unbolt the tensioner assembly (typically 1–2 bolts) and remove the idler pulley if worn or damaged.
Install the new tensioner in reverse order, ensuring it seats firmly and moves freely.
Install the new idler pulley (70mm), confirming proper alignment and no runout.
Route the new drive belt according to the routing diagram (usually under the radiator shroud or driver-side fender area). Verify no twists or misalignment.
Release the tensioner tool to allow spring pressure to automatically tension the new belt.
Rotate the engine by hand 2–3 times to confirm smooth belt tracking and no binding.
Reconnect the battery terminal, run the engine at idle for 30 seconds, and check for vibration or noise.
Allow the belt to settle for 30 minutes before running at highway speeds.
