Installation Notes
DIY Installation – Intermediate | 20–30 Minutes

Prepare: Allow engine to cool completely. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Drain coolant into a container (catch spillage).

Locate components: Heater outlet hose routes from throttle body to heater core. Thermostat water pipe connects to coolant jacket.

Remove old hose: Unbolt mounting brackets. Disconnect hose clamps (save for reuse or upgrade). Withdraw old component carefully—coolant residue expected.

Install new hose: Position new hose in same routing. Secure with original clamps or upgrade to stainless steel hose clamps (recommended). Ensure no kinks or twists.

For thermostat water pipe: Disconnect inlet and outlet lines. Remove fasteners. Install new pipe. Use OEM gaskets; apply thin layer of silicone sealer. Torque to 7–9 Nm.

Refill coolant: Pour fresh coolant (OEM spec: HOAT or equivalent). Bleed air from system per owner's manual. Top up reservoir.

Test: Start engine, monitor temperature gauge for 5 minutes. Check for leaks around connections. Recheck coolant level after 10 miles.
⚠ Warning: Coolant is toxic. Keep away from skin and eyes. Do not dispose in storm drains. Wear safety gloves and eye protection. If you lack tools or confidence, have a Land Rover specialist perform installation.
