Installation Notes
Difficulty: Intermediate · Estimated Time: 45–90 Minutes
- Confirm your Porsche PCM has a NAVI button on the control panel. If only a CD-AUX button is present, this adapter will not function — do not proceed.
- If your vehicle is fitted with Sirius Satellite Radio, contact us before installation. We will include specific supplementary screws required for your configuration.
- Remove the PCM 3.1 head unit from the dash using appropriate trim removal tools — take care not to damage surrounding trim panels.
- Disconnect the OEM wiring harness from the rear of the PCM unit and connect the supplied adapter harness in-line between the PCM and the vehicle loom.
- Route and connect the replacement microphone to the adapter — do not reconnect the original OEM microphone, as it shares circuitry with the vehicle's SOS emergency system.
- Secure the CarPlay module in an accessible cavity behind the dash. Ensure no pinched cables before refitting the head unit.
- Refit the PCM unit, power up the vehicle, and follow the on-screen pairing instructions to connect your iPhone via Bluetooth for the initial wireless CarPlay setup.
⚠ Important: The original factory microphone must not be reused. It is integrated with the Porsche SOS emergency call system. The included replacement microphone provides equivalent call quality without interfering with safety systems.
