Installation Notes
Difficulty: Beginner | Time: 10–15 minutes

Cool the Engine: Allow your vehicle to cool for at least 30 minutes. Never work on a hot coolant system.

Locate the Drain Plug: On most models, the connector sits at the lower rear of the radiator or near the lower engine block coolant line. Consult your owner's manual or service guide for the exact location.

Prepare for Spillage: Place a drain pan beneath the connector to catch residual coolant.

Remove the Old Plug: Gently unscrew or unclip the existing connector. Coolant may still drip—allow it to drain fully into your pan.

Clean the Thread/Seating Area: Wipe the connection point with a clean cloth to remove debris or old sealant.

Install the New Plug: Screw the new connector firmly into place until snug. Do not over-tighten—hand-tight plus a quarter turn is sufficient.

Check for Leaks: Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature. Check the connection point for any seepage.

Top Up Coolant (if draining): If you performed a full drain, refill the system with the correct coolant specification for your model and bleed air from the system per the service manual.
