Installation Notes

Drain and disconnect: Relieve engine pressure, disconnect battery, remove auxiliary components to access timing cover.

Remove cover bolts: Unbolt and carefully lift timing cover. Note gasket condition for reuse or replacement.

Locate idler pulleys: Front idlers are positioned along the timing belt run. Mark belt direction with tape or marker.

Unbolt old pulleys: Use appropriately-sized socket or wrench. Pulleys may be tight; apply penetrant if needed.

Install new pulleys: Fit new OEM units into mounting brackets. Align bearing bores and hand-tighten bolts first.

Torque to spec: Tighten to Land Rover / Jaguar factory specification (typically 18–24 Nm for idler pivot bolts). Do not over-torque.
