Installation

Disconnect the negative battery terminal and allow the cooling system to cool completely.

Locate the vacuum pump on the engine block (driver's side, typically mounted near the inlet manifold).

Disconnect the vacuum hoses and electrical connector from the old pump. Mark hose positions for reference.

Remove retaining bolts (usually 2–3 × M10 fasteners) and withdraw the old pump.

Install the new pump in reverse order. Align hoses carefully and torque bolts to 24 N·m (18 ft·lbs).

Reconnect the battery terminal, start the engine, and listen for normal pump operation—a subtle clicking sound under load.

Test brake feel at low speed in a safe area. Pedal should feel firm and responsive.
⚠️ Warning: Vacuum pump failure reduces braking assist significantly. If you feel a hard, unresponsive brake pedal, do not drive the vehicle. Have the pump replaced immediately.
