Installation Notes

Safety first. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Allow the engine to cool completely.

Remove the serpentine belt. Loosen the tensioner bolt; the belt will slip free from the pulleys.

Replace the belt. Thread the new belt around the crankshaft pulley, alternator, tensioner, idler, and air conditioning compressor following the routing diagram under the hood.

Replace the tensioner (if selected). Unbolt the old tensioner assembly; install the new one hand-tight, then torque to specification.

Replace the idler pulley (if selected). Remove the bolt securing the idler; install the new pulley and tighten securely.

Tension the belt. Rotate the tensioner until the belt sits at the correct deflection (typically 0.25–0.5 inches mid-span on a cold engine). Lock the tensioner bolt.

Reconnect the battery. Start the engine and listen for unusual noise. Run for 30 seconds, then inspect all connections.
