Installation

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent accidental ignition.

Remove the engine cover (if fitted) by unclipping or unscrewing 4–6 fasteners.

Disconnect the breather hose from the old valve cover—note its position or photograph it first.

Unbolt the old cover using a socket set. Typically 6–8 bolts, working from outer edges inward.

Lift off the old cover carefully—it may require gentle tapping with a rubber mallet if stuck.

Clean the gasket sealing surface on the cylinder head with a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol. Allow to dry completely (2–3 minutes).

Position the new cover over the cylinder head, ensuring the breather ports align with the hose connection.

Install bolts hand-tight, working from the centre outward in an X-pattern.

Torque bolts to specification (typically 8–12 Nm / 6–9 ft-lb). Do not over-tighten—this can warp the gasket.

Reconnect the breather hose to the new cover, ensuring it seats firmly.

Reinstall the engine cover and reconnect the battery terminal.

Run the engine for 2–3 minutes and inspect for any oil seepage around the new gasket. Normal condensation is fine; active dripping is not.
