  1. Remove the negative battery terminal to disconnect the electrical system
  2. Carefully prise out the old fascia using a soft plastic trim tool, working from the top corners downward
  3. Disconnect any wiring harnesses attached to the original console (typically climate controls or hazard switches)
  4. Inspect the mounting points for any damage or corrosion; clean if necessary
  5. Align the new fascia with the mounting aperture, ensuring the double-din opening is centred and square
  6. Clip the fascia into place, starting at the top and pressing firmly at each anchor point
  7. Reconnect any wiring harnesses, ensuring connectors are fully seated
  8. Reconnect the negative battery terminal and test all electrical functions (lights, switches, etc.)
  9. Reattach any trim rings or bezels around the fascia perimeter for a finished look
    10. Note: If your Defender has been modified or has non-standard wiring, test-fit the fascia before final installation to confirm clearance around harnesses.
