- Remove the interior door card carefully using appropriate plastic trim tools to avoid cracking the panel clips — LC250 door cards use a combination of screw fixings and push-fit clips.
- Peel back the door membrane to access the regulator mounting area. Take care not to tear the membrane seal as it prevents moisture ingress.
- Disconnect the factory window lifter electrical connector and unbolt the existing regulator assembly from the door shell — typically four to six bolts depending on the door position.
- Transfer the window glass to the new regulator by sliding the glass channel clips into the upgraded unit and securing as per the factory fixings.
- Bolt the new assembly into place using the factory mounting holes, reconnect the electrical plug, and test operation before reassembling the door membrane and card.
- Restore the door panel, reconnect the battery, and cycle the window fully up and down several times to confirm smooth and consistent operation.
Important: Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with door card removal on the LC250/J250. Incorrect reassembly of the door membrane can lead to water ingress.
