Overview
The Land Rover Freelander LR2 2.2 TDi is renowned for its refined diesel efficiency, but the turbocharger cooling circuit is among the most critical systems to maintain. The intercooler inlet manifold hose connects the turbo's boost pressure outlet directly to the inlet manifold, managing extreme temperature and pressure conditions on every drive.
This OEM-specification intercooler hose assembly delivers genuine performance and reliability. Built to Land Rover's original equipment standards (part numbers LR066429, LR002589, LR000927), it features reinforced rubber construction with dual stainless steel hose clamps rated for sustained boost pressure and thermal cycling. Perfect as a replacement for failed, cracked, or weeping hoses that compromise turbo efficiency.
Premium aftermarket engineering means it fits your Freelander exactly as the factory intended—no modifications, no guesswork. Whether you're addressing a boost leak or preventative maintenance, this hose restores full turbo responsiveness and protects downstream engine components from pressure loss.

Installation
Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45–60 minutes
-
Disconnect the battery negative terminal and allow the coolant system to cool completely.
-
Locate the intercooler hose running from the turbocharger outlet to the inlet manifold (front-right lower position).
-
Remove the two stainless clamps using a 10mm or 11mm socket wrench, working gently to avoid damaging the fittings.
-
Slide the old hose away from both connectors. Some coolant residue may drip—have a catch pan ready.
-
Inspect the turbo outlet and manifold inlet for debris, scoring, or corrosion. Clean lightly with a soft cloth if needed.
-
Position the new hose assembly over both connectors, ensuring full seating at each end.
-
Reinstall the stainless steel clamps with the bolts facing downward. Torque to 12–15 Nm (9–11 lb-ft) in a cross pattern for even pressure.
-
Refill the coolant reservoir to the minimum mark and check for leaks at idle for 5 minutes.
-
Reconnect the battery and clear any engine codes using a diagnostic scanner if necessary.
⚠ Important: Work only on a cold engine. Do not loosen the intercooler hose under pressure or while the engine is running. If you detect oil or fuel contamination in the coolant system, the turbocharger may require inspection. Always dispose of old coolant responsibly.
