Overview
Range Rover and Land Rover vehicles produced between 2012 and 2018 came equipped with the InControl Touch infotainment platform — a capable system for its era, but one that was never designed with today's connected driving in mind. Native support for Spotify, Waze, Google Maps, WhatsApp or any third-party app simply isn't possible through the factory interface, leaving owners of some of the finest SUVs on the road with a surprisingly limited digital experience.
This Android Box upgrade resolves that entirely. Wiring directly into your vehicle's existing infotainment harness, it overlays a fully functional Android 6.0 environment onto your factory screen — no screen replacement, no permanent modification. From the moment it's connected, your Range Rover or Land Rover gains access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via the included USB dongle, plus standalone Android tablet functionality including streaming apps, browser access, and full Google Play compatibility.
Crucially, your original InControl system remains completely intact. The Android overlay can be exited at any time simply by pressing the NAV button on your factory controls, returning the vehicle to its standard interface. Climate controls, parking sensors, vehicle settings and all factory functions continue to operate exactly as Land Rover intended — this upgrade adds capability, it doesn't remove anything.

Installation Notes
Difficulty: Intermediate | Estimated Time: 45–90 minutes
- Remove the factory infotainment head unit from the dashboard using appropriate trim tools (refer to vehicle-specific guides).
- Locate the factory infotainment harness connector at the rear of the head unit.
- Connect the vehicle-specific wiring harness from the Android box inline between the factory connector and the head unit — no cutting required.
- Mount the Android box in a suitable location behind the dashboard with adequate ventilation.
- Insert the CarPlay / Android Auto USB dongle into one of the dual USB ports on the Android box.
- Reassemble the dashboard trim and power on the vehicle to confirm the interface loads correctly.
- Pair your iPhone or Android device via the dongle and launch your preferred CarPlay or Android Auto session.
- Press NAV at any time to return to the standard Land Rover InControl interface.
