Installation Notes
Difficulty: Beginner–Intermediate | Time: 30–45 minutes
- Remove negative terminal from battery and wait 5 minutes for electrical discharge.
- Carefully remove rear bumper trim or access panel as outlined in your GLS service manual.
- Dry the muffler area and surrounding surface with a microfibre cloth. Light isopropyl wipe is permitted.
- Position left trim against driver-side exhaust outlet, align mounting brackets, and secure fasteners hand-tight first.
- Repeat step 4 for passenger-side (right) trim, ensuring symmetry and equal spacing from bumper edge.
- Torque all fasteners to 8–10 Nm using a calibrated torque wrench in a star pattern.
- Reinstall bumper trim and reconnect battery terminal. Start engine and visually confirm no gaps or movement.
- Allow adhesive-backed seals (if applied) to cure for 2 hours before heavy acceleration.
