- Thoroughly clean the tailgate surface where the strip will be applied. Use an isopropyl alcohol wipe to degrease the area and remove any wax, polish, or contaminants.
- Allow the surface to dry completely — adhesive performance is significantly reduced on damp or cold surfaces. Ideal application temperature is between 15°C and 30°C.
- Dry-fit the strip against the tailgate to confirm positioning and alignment before removing the adhesive backing.
- Peel the adhesive backing from the strip, starting from one end. Carefully align the strip with the tailgate contour and press firmly from the centre outward to avoid air bubbles.
- Apply firm, even pressure along the full length of the strip for 30–60 seconds to ensure full adhesive contact.
- Allow the adhesive to cure for a minimum of 24 hours before exposing the vehicle to water, rain, or a car wash.
⚠ Note: Do not apply to freshly painted, repaired, or waxed surfaces. If you are unsure about the installation process, professional fitting is recommended. Incorrect surface preparation is the most common cause of adhesive failure.
