Installation Notes
Difficulty: Intermediate · Estimated Time: 45–90 Minutes
- Remove the MMI head unit from the Audi A1 dashboard using appropriate trim removal tools. Take care not to damage surrounding trim panels.
- Locate the factory MMI connector at the rear of the head unit. The adapter harness connects directly here — no splicing or cutting required.
- Route the adapter module to a suitable location behind the head unit or within the centre console void, ensuring adequate ventilation.
- If connecting an aftermarket camera, run the RCA cable to the desired camera location at this stage before reassembling trim.
- Reconnect the factory MMI connectors through the adapter harness, then reinstall the head unit into the dashboard.
- Power on the vehicle and follow the on-screen pairing instructions to connect your iPhone or Android device wirelessly via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
- Test steering wheel controls, audio output, navigation, and camera feed before completing the installation.
