Installation Notes
Difficulty: Moderate · Estimated Time: 30–60 Minutes
- Carefully remove the MMI control panel surround using a trim removal tool to avoid scratching the dash.
- Locate the factory MMI harness connector at the rear of the unit and disconnect it from the head unit.
- Connect the adapter's harness to the factory MMI plug, then reconnect to the head unit — the adapter sits inline between the two.
- Route the wireless antenna to a discreet location with line-of-sight to the cabin (above the headliner or behind the trim panel).
- If using a rear or front camera, connect the RCA video cable to the corresponding camera output.
- Refit the MMI surround trim, power on the vehicle, and follow the on-screen pairing instructions to connect your phone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
- On first use, accept the CarPlay or Android Auto prompt on your phone. Subsequent connections are automatic and wireless.
⚠ Important: Ensure your vehicle's ignition is fully off before beginning installation. Do not force any connectors — the MMI harness is keyed and will seat correctly without excessive pressure. If you are not confident working with in-car electronics, we recommend professional installation.
