Installation Guide

Drain oil: Remove the sump plug and drain engine oil into a waste container. Replace the drain plug and torque to spec.

Remove timing cover: Unbolt the timing cover from the block. Inspect the old seal for debris or scoring.

Extract old seal: Use a seal puller tool to carefully extract the failed seal without damaging the crankshaft nose or timing cover bore.

Clean contact surfaces: Wipe the crankshaft nose and timing cover bore with a lint-free cloth and light penetrating oil. Remove any carbon buildup.

Lubricate new seal: Apply a thin coat of clean engine oil to the inner lip of the new seal.

Install new seal: Align the seal squarely on the crankshaft nose and tap gently with a seal installer until fully seated and flush with the block.
