Installation Notes

- Park the vehicle on a flat surface and allow the bumper to reach ambient temperature before beginning. Clean the entire lower bumper surface with isopropyl alcohol to remove wax, grease, and road film — adhesion depends on a fully degreased substrate.
- Dry-fit the splitter pieces against the bumper to confirm alignment and identify any areas that may require minor adjustment. Use masking tape to mark the target position before bonding.
- Apply the supplied double-sided bonding tape to the rear face of the splitter. A heat gun used briefly on the bonding tape and bumper surface will significantly improve adhesion, particularly in cooler climates.
- Press the splitter firmly into the marked position, applying sustained pressure across all contact surfaces for a minimum of 60 seconds. Fit any supplied clips or discreet hardware fixings to reinforce the bond at the edges.
- For the LED kit: route the wiring loom behind the bumper fascia and connect to a switched 12V feed — the sidelights circuit is the most common choice for a tidy, automatic operation. Secure all wiring with the supplied clips to prevent vibration noise.
- Allow the bonding adhesive to cure for a minimum of 24 hours before washing or driving at motorway speeds. Avoid pressure washing directly at the bonded seams during the first 48 hours.
⚠ Important: Professional fitting is recommended for optimal alignment and long-term durability. If your Defender is fitted with the factory Urban Pack front lip, this kit is not compatible and should not be installed over the existing trim. Always verify your bumper configuration before ordering.
