- Open the tailgate fully and carefully remove the existing factory tailgate trim panel using appropriate trim removal tools. Take care not to damage retaining clips.
- Test-fit the LED tailgate cover over the factory trim area to confirm alignment and confirm no gaps or interference before proceeding.
- Route the included wiring harness through the tailgate panel to your chosen power source – tail light feed, brake light circuit, or a switched ignition live.
- Connect positive and negative leads securely. Use electrical tape or heat shrink over all connections to prevent moisture ingress.
- Secure the LED tailgate cover in position using the provided mounting hardware and adhesive elements. Press firmly across the full length to ensure even contact.
- Reconnect your vehicle's lighting circuit and test LED operation across all relevant modes before refitting the tailgate trim panel.
- Refit the factory trim panel and run a final check to confirm clean finish, no cable pinching, and full LED illumination.
