Installation

Disconnect battery negative terminal to avoid electrical faults.

Allow engine to cool fully — coolant system may be pressurised.

Locate sensor in air inlet pipe above coolant thermostat housing (engine bay, top-centre area).

Unclip wiring harness from sensor connector — note orientation for reassembly.

Unscrew old sensor from housing using a socket or wrench (typically 19–21mm).

Install new sensor — hand-tighten, then snug with wrench (do not over-torque).

Reconnect harness to new sensor until clip locks audibly.

Reconnect battery and start engine. Check for error codes via diagnostics.

Monitor temperature gauge for 5 minutes to confirm normal readings.
Caution: Coolant is toxic. Dispose of drained fluid responsibly. If coolant spills during removal, do not run the engine until system is refilled. If unsure, have a qualified technician perform the swap.
