Installation

Disconnect the battery negative terminal and allow the engine to cool completely (min. 30 minutes).

Drain the cooling system by opening the radiator plug or bottom hose clamp. Collect coolant in a clean container for reuse.

Locate the connector on the engine block or expansion tank inlet. It will be bolted or push-fit depending on your model year.

Disconnect hoses and bolts carefully. Note hose orientation for reinstallation. O-ring may remain in the old connector—discard it.

Clean the mating surface with a lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive tools; avoid scratches that could compromise the seal.

Install the new connector with the pre-installed O-ring facing the mating surface. Hand-tighten bolts first.

Torque bolts to 10–15 N⋅m (7–11 lb-ft) in a star pattern. Do not over-tighten; this can deform the O-ring and cause slow leaks.

Reconnect hoses in their original positions. Use fresh hose clamps if originals show wear.

Refill the cooling system slowly with a 50/50 mixture of distilled water and antifreeze (or OEM-spec coolant). Burp air pockets by running the engine at idle for 5–10 minutes.

Top up and pressure-test once the engine reaches operating temperature. Check for leaks around the connector for 10 minutes.

Reconnect the battery and confirm no warning lights. Test drive for 15 minutes to verify steady coolant temperature.
