Overview
The serpentine belt system—including the drive belt, idler pulleys, and tensioner—is critical to the performance of your Land Rover Discovery 4, Range Rover, or Range Rover Sport 5.0L V8 engine. Over time, wear on these components can lead to squealing, loss of auxiliary power, and potential engine shutdown.
This kit includes OE-specification replacements matching Land Rover part numbers LR091610 (belt), LR035544 (idler without bracket), LR036304 (idler), and LR071035 (tensioner). Every component is manufactured to factory tolerances and tested for durability under full engine load.
Whether you're addressing a warning light, preventive maintenance, or catastrophic failure, this comprehensive kit eliminates guesswork. Direct fit to your vehicle, easy installation for experienced DIY enthusiasts, and backed by 12-month manufacturer coverage.

Installation Guide
Difficulty Level: Intermediate | Time: 1–2 hours
-
Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Safety first—disable any automatic shutdown systems.
-
Remove the plastic engine cover. Most Discovery 4 and Range Rover models use clips and two bolts.
-
Locate the tensioner pulley. It sits on the driver's side of the engine bay, spring-mounted to the block.
-
Release belt tension. Rotate the tensioner counterclockwise using a breaker bar—most use a 15mm socket.
-
Remove the old belt, idlers, and tensioner. Mark routing on the engine cover before disconnecting.
-
Install new idler pulleys. Torque bolts to 18–22 Nm (13–16 ft-lbs). Confirm bearings spin freely with no grinding.
-
Fit the new tensioner assembly. Align the spring slot and torque the main bolt to 25–30 Nm.
-
Route the new serpentine belt. Follow the routing diagram printed on the engine cover or timing cover. Do not force—the belt should slip smoothly onto each pulley.
-
Check belt tension. Spin the belt by hand. It should require moderate pressure to rotate and show no slack on the longest unsupported span.
-
Run the engine at idle for 60 seconds. Listen for squealing. If present, stop and re-check routing and tensioner spring alignment.
-
Reconnect battery, clear any warning codes, and test drive. Belt should run silent under full load.
⚠️ Important: Never operate the engine with a loose or misaligned belt. Failure to route correctly may result in alternator/water pump failure or complete serpentine system shutdown. If unsure, consult a certified Land Rover technician. Improper installation voids the manufacturer warranty.
Complete Your Engine Service
A properly functioning serpentine belt system is non-negotiable for engine longevity. Keep your Land Rover, Range Rover, or Discovery running at peak efficiency with OE-specification components and a 12-month warranty.
