Installation Guide

Warm the engine to 40°C, then allow to cool for 10 minutes. Do not work on a hot engine.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal and secure it away from the post.

Drain the cooling system into a clean container. Catch any oil spillage with absorbent material.

Remove the lower undertray (plastic belly pan) secured by 6–8 Torx fasteners.

Unbolt the cooler assembly from its mounting bracket—typically 4 bolts (M8 or M10 depending on engine). Support with your hand as you remove the final bolt.

Disconnect oil inlet and outlet hoses using a hose clamp tool. Have a drain tray ready. Plug both ports immediately.

Position the new assembly on the mounting bracket, align bolt holes, and hand-start all fasteners before final tightening. Torque to 25–30 Nm.

Connect hoses using OE-spec hose clamps. Oil flows from the engine block to the inlet port (marked with an arrow). Verify tightness by tugging each hose.

Refill the cooling system with OE coolant mix (50/50 distilled water and concentrate). Bleed air by running the engine at idle until the thermostat opens, then top off.

Reinstall the undertray and reconnect the battery terminal.

Start the engine and check for drips around all connection points. Allow 5 minutes of idle running, then check coolant level once more.
Important: This cooler carries oil pressure and coolant flow. Even minor leaks can damage the engine. If you're not confident in your mechanical skills, have a qualified Land Rover technician perform the installation. Improper fitting voids the warranty.
