- Ensure your Discovery Sport has been parked and the engine is fully cool before starting. Avoid installation in direct sunlight or cold temperatures below 10°C, as this affects adhesive performance.
- Thoroughly clean the fuel filler recess area using isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or a panel wipe solution. Remove all traces of dirt, wax, polish, or moisture from the surface.
- Allow the cleaned surface to dry completely for at least 5 minutes before proceeding.
- Trial-fit the trim piece dry — without removing the adhesive backing — to confirm alignment and positioning before committing to the final fit.
- Peel back the adhesive liner from the rear of the trim and carefully align the piece over the fuel filler recess, starting from one edge and pressing down progressively to avoid trapping air bubbles.
- Apply firm, even pressure across the full surface of the trim for 30–60 seconds to activate the adhesive bond.
- Allow a minimum of 2 hours before exposing the vehicle to rain, washing, or extreme temperatures to allow the bond to fully cure.
