Installation Notes

Disconnect battery negative terminal and wait 2–3 minutes for electrical discharge.

Remove engine cover and locate belt routing diagram (on inner fender or owner's manual).

Using a breaker bar on the tensioner bolt, rotate clockwise to release tension. Mark belt position with tape before removal.

Slide off the old belt. Inspect pulley surfaces for damage or separation.

Install new belt on crankshaft, water pump, and alternator pulleys first. Route to air con compressor last.

Thread the belt around the new tensioner; ensure all ribs are seated in grooves.

Release the tensioner lever to apply spring tension (do not force; automatic damping will engage).

Reconnect battery. Start engine and listen for 5–10 seconds; there should be no chirp or slip noise.

Allow idle for 2 minutes while monitoring alternator output on dashboard. Fault codes should clear within one driving cycle.
⚠️ Important: Do not apply excessive force to the tensioner lever. The internal spring damper is pre-calibrated. Forcing it can damage the assembly or misalign the belt. If resistance is high, double-check belt routing against the diagram. Torque tensioner bolt to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
