Installation
Difficulty: Beginner · Time: 20–35 minutes
- Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and wait 2 minutes for residual energy to drain.
- Remove the air intake hose and any vacuum lines connected to the throttle body (label for reassembly).
- Unbolt the throttle body from the intake manifold using a 10mm socket (typically 4 bolts).
- Carefully lift the throttle body away, taking care not to damage the electrical connector.
- Clean both the throttle body and manifold mating surfaces using a soft brush and degreaser—remove all traces of old gasket material and sealant.
- Position the new gasket squarely on the manifold mounting face.
- Reinstall the throttle body, hand-threading bolts first, then torque to 25 Nm (18 ft-lbs) in a cross pattern.
- Reconnect vacuum lines and intake hose in reverse order of removal.
- Reconnect the battery negative terminal and allow the engine to idle for 2–3 minutes while the ECU relearns idle parameters.
⚠ Do not reuse the old gasket. Even a partial tear or compression set will cause vacuum leaks. If manifold surfaces are damaged or pitted, light resurfacing with fine-grit sandpaper is recommended.
