Installation Notes
Difficulty: Moderate | Time: 45–90 minutes
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal (–12V) to disable the engine control unit
- Locate the crankshaft sensor on the front of the engine block or behind the timing cover (consult your vehicle service manual for exact location)
- Unplug the sensor's electrical connector by pressing the release tab
- Remove the sensor mounting bolt(s) using a 10mm socket
- Carefully extract the old sensor and inspect the bore for debris or damage
- Install the new sensor, hand-tighten first, then torque to 6–8 Nm (4.4–5.9 lb-ft)
- Reconnect the sensor plug until you hear a soft click
- Reconnect the battery terminal and start the engine
- Allow the engine to idle for 60 seconds to recalibrate the timing signal
- Clear any lingering fault codes using an OBD-II scanner (optional)
⚠️ Important: Do not touch the sensor's magnetic tip or connector pins. Avoid forcing the electrical connector—it should slide freely. If your engine management light persists after installation, verify the connector is fully seated and contact Victorious support.
