Installation Notes

Disconnect battery: Negative terminal first. Wait 10 minutes for system discharge.

Remove engine covers: Plastic and metal covers blocking access to timing bay. Document bolt locations.

Drain coolant (optional): If working near coolant passages, drain into a clean container for reuse.

Mark timing: Use paint marker to identify crankshaft, camshaft, and auxiliary shaft positions. Take reference photos.

Remove tensioner: Unbolt old tensioner assembly (OE LR051008). Note preload settings.

Release chain tension: Support timing chain with a wire to prevent damage to adjacent components.

Remove guide arms: Unbolt RH (LR051011) and LH (LR051012) guide arms from cylinder head. Clean mounting surfaces.
