- Begin with the interior at room temperature — cold cabins can reduce initial adhesive bond strength. Park in a garage or allow the vehicle to warm slightly if working in cold conditions.
- Clean the existing reading light surround thoroughly using an isopropyl alcohol wipe or lint-free cloth. Remove any dust, oils, or residue from the factory plastic surface and allow to dry completely.
- Dry-fit each cover piece into position without removing the adhesive backing — confirm alignment, light clearance, and panel edge contact before committing.
- Peel back the adhesive liner from the first cover piece. Align carefully with the surround edges and press firmly into position, applying sustained hand pressure for 30–60 seconds across the full surface.
- Repeat for the second cover piece, confirming symmetry between the left and right sides before pressing down.
- Allow 24 hours for the adhesive bond to fully cure before exposing the area to significant vibration, cleaning products, or temperature extremes.
⚠ Note: Do not stretch or force the covers into position — each piece is moulded specifically for the 2015–2019 Discovery Sport surround profile. Applying excessive pressure at the edges before the centre is set may cause misalignment. If repositioning is required, do so within the first few seconds of placement before the adhesive sets.
