- Park your Defender on a level surface and ensure the vehicle is switched off and the handbrake is engaged before beginning work.
- Locate the existing rear tow hook mounting points on the rear bumper assembly — these are factory-threaded positions on the 2020–2021 L663.
- If factory tow hooks or blanking covers are fitted, remove them carefully using the appropriate socket or spanner. Retain any original hardware in case of future reinstatement.
- Align the new red tow hooks with the mounting points, ensuring correct orientation — hooks should face outward and slightly downward in the resting position.
- Insert the supplied mounting hardware and tighten to a firm, secure torque. Do not overtighten, as this may stress the aluminum body of the hook.
- Repeat for the second hook on the opposite mounting point, ensuring both are symmetrically aligned.
- Inspect both hooks for security and confirm there is no movement or play before returning the vehicle to use.
