Installation Guide
Difficulty: Intermediate | Time: 45–75 minutes

Disconnect the battery negative terminal and let the engine cool completely.

Locate the crankshaft pulley at the front of the engine and remove retaining bolts using the correct socket size.

Remove the timing cover (some models require partial removal of upper cover only).

Identify the old oil seal at the crankshaft nose. Use a seal removal tool or small pry tool to carefully extract it without damaging the crankshaft surface.

Inspect the crankshaft surface for any scoring or debris. Clean thoroughly with a lint-free cloth.

Apply a thin layer of fresh engine oil to the lip of the new seal and the crankshaft nose.

Press the new seal into place using a seal installer tool (or equivalent sized socket) to ensure even seating and prevent tilting.

Reinstall the timing cover and crankshaft pulley, torquing bolts to manufacturer specification (typically 20–30 Nm).

Reconnect the battery and start the engine. Check for any visible leaks at the seal area.

Run the engine for 5 minutes at idle, then recheck for seepage before returning to normal driving.
