- Confirm vehicle is parked on a level surface with ignition off and battery isolated at the negative terminal before beginning any electrical work.
- Remove the existing lower sill trim panels on both sides of the vehicle to expose the mounting points and routing channels.
- Position and secure the step mounting brackets to the reinforced sill subframe using the supplied hardware, ensuring correct alignment with door aperture geometry.
- Attach the deployable step assemblies to the installed brackets on each side, checking that the retraction travel is unobstructed along the full range of movement.
- Route the wiring harness along the underside of the sill through existing grommets and connect to the door trigger signal at each door, following the wiring diagram provided.
- Reconnect the battery, open and close each door to verify correct deployment and retraction on both sides before refitting trim panels.
- Refit sill trim panels and conduct a final inspection of step operation, surface finish and all fixings before returning the vehicle to use.
⚠ Important: These steps are designed exclusively for the Range Rover L460 from the 2023 model year onward. Vehicles registered in 2021 or 2022 use the previous L405 platform and are not compatible — fitment on an incompatible vehicle will result in incorrect alignment and potential damage. Professional installation is strongly recommended to ensure correct electrical integration and to preserve any existing vehicle warranties.
