- Thoroughly clean each trim surface with an isopropyl alcohol wipe and allow to dry completely. Dust, grease or silicone residue will compromise adhesion.
- Dry-fit each strip to its corresponding position before removing the adhesive backing — confirm alignment and orientation first.
- Peel the 3M adhesive backing and carefully position the strip onto the surface, starting from one end and working progressively to avoid air pockets.
- Apply firm, even pressure along the full length of each strip for a minimum of two minutes — pay particular attention to edges and corners.
- In ambient temperatures below 15°C (59°F), gently warm the adhesive side using a hair dryer on a low heat setting before pressing to improve bonding performance.
- Avoid any moisture contact on the bonded surfaces for at least 72 hours post-installation to allow the adhesive to fully cure.
