Prepare: Ensure engine is cold. Do not remove the lid from a hot cooling system — risk of steam and scalding.

Locate tank: The expansion tank is mounted at the front of the engine bay (typically driver's side). Refer to your owner's manual if unsure.

Remove old lid: Gently twist the lid counterclockwise to release. Expect minimal coolant spillage.

Inspect tank: Wipe the tank opening clean of debris or mineral deposits. If coolant is discolored or brown, consider a system flush.

Install new lid: Place the new 200 kPa lid onto the tank opening and twist clockwise until snug. Do not over-tighten.

Check level: Verify coolant is between MIN and MAX marks on the tank. Top up if necessary with appropriate coolant (check owner's manual for type).

Start engine: Run at idle for 30 seconds, then switch off. Wait 2 minutes and recheck coolant level. Repeat as needed.
