Installation Notes

Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait 5 minutes for the electrical system to discharge.

Allow the engine to cool completely. This job requires access to hot coolant lines; never work on a warm engine.

Locate the hose connection points: Engine block outlet (lower front) and heater core inlet (upper firewall area, passenger side).

Position a coolant drain pan beneath the hose. Some coolant will spill—expect 0.5–1.0 litre loss.

Remove hose clamps using a flathead screwdriver or spring-clamp removal tool. Note clamp positions for reassembly.

Gently twist and pull the old hose away from both ports. Do not force—apply steady, even pressure.

Inspect the port spigots for cracks or corrosion. If damaged, the component may require replacement.

Install the new hose by pushing firmly onto both ports until fully seated. The hose should not spin freely on the spigot.

Reinstall hose clamps in their original positions. Tighten firmly but do not over-torque (risk of splitting the rubber).

Refill the coolant system through the expansion tank cap. Use Pentosin FrostSchutz (or equivalent OEM-approved coolant) to top up to the cold-fill line.

Bleed air from the system by running the engine at idle for 5 minutes with the expansion tank cap removed. Top up as needed.

Reinstall the expansion tank cap and reconnect the negative battery terminal.

Test for leaks by idling the engine for 10 minutes and inspecting both hose connection points. Stop the engine and recheck after cooling.
⚠️ Important: Never open the coolant expansion tank or disconnect hoses while the engine is hot. Hot coolant under pressure can cause severe burns. Always work on a cold engine. If coolant loss is significant or leaks persist after installation, stop use immediately and seek professional diagnosis.
