Installation Notes

- Allow engine to cool completely. Never remove coolant hoses from a warm engine.
- Locate the expansion tank in the engine bay (upper driver's side on XF/XJ models).
- Place a drain pan beneath the connection point to catch residual coolant.
- Loosen and remove the old bleed hose from the expansion tank fitting using a hose clamp tool or pliers.
- Inspect the fitting on the expansion tank for damage; clean gently with a soft cloth if needed.
- Attach the new hose securely to the expansion tank outlet, ensuring a tight seal.
- Secure the hose clamp (typically 8–10mm) hand-tight, then give a final quarter-turn with pliers.
- Route the hose away from hot engine components; avoid sharp bends.
- Refill the expansion tank with approved Jaguar coolant (typically Jaguar Coolant Concentrate or equivalent) to the MAX line.
- Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature; watch for leaks.
- Perform a cooling system bleed cycle if your XF/XJ is equipped with an electric bleeding valve; consult your handbook for procedure.
- Top up coolant if necessary and allow engine to cool; recheck level.
