- Ensure the engine is fully cold and the ignition is off before beginning. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.
- Locate the secondary belt tensioner pulley on the 4.4L V8 engine. Using the appropriate socket or breaker bar, rotate the tensioner to relieve belt tension.
- Carefully slide the old secondary belt off the accessory pulleys, noting the routing path for reference. Photograph the routing before removal if unfamiliar.
- Inspect all idler pulleys, the tensioner pulley, and the main drive pulleys for wear, wobble, or damage. Replace any compromised components before fitting the new belt.
- Route the new PQS500221 belt over the pulleys following the original routing path. Ensure correct seating in all grooves before releasing tension.
- Slowly release the tensioner to apply load to the new belt. Verify the belt is tracking centrally on all pulleys with no edge overhang.
- Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and check for any squealing, misalignment, or unusual noise at idle and under light accessory load.
⚠ Important: This belt is for the secondary/auxiliary drive position only — do not confuse with the primary serpentine belt. Always verify your engine variant is the 4.4L V8 petrol before ordering.
