- Open the tailgate fully and allow the electric mechanism to settle in the open position before beginning.
- Thoroughly clean the tailgate door frame surface using the included prep wipe or an isopropyl alcohol solution. Remove all dust, grease, wax, and residue.
- Allow the surface to dry completely — at least 5 minutes — before attempting to fit the trim sticker.
- Carefully peel back approximately 20–30% of the protective backing from the trim sticker to expose the adhesive.
- Align the exposed section of the trim with one end of the tailgate frame, using the vehicle's edge geometry as a guide. Press firmly to bond.
- Gradually peel back the remaining backing while pressing the trim into place along the frame, working section by section to avoid air bubbles.
- Once fully applied, run your thumb or a soft cloth firmly along the entire trim to ensure complete adhesion and a flush, bubble-free finish.
- Allow the adhesive to cure for a minimum of 24 hours before subjecting the area to water or heavy use.
⚠ Important: Do not install in cold temperatures below 10°C — adhesive performance is significantly reduced. For best results, fit in a garage or heated environment. If surface is freshly waxed or ceramic coated, clean with IPA wipe immediately prior to installation.
