- Start with a clean, dry steering wheel. Using a microfibre cloth, wipe down all button surround areas with an isopropyl alcohol wipe (not included) to remove any oils, dust, or residue — this step is critical for adhesion.
- Dry-fit each of the four frame pieces onto their corresponding button clusters before removing any adhesive backing. Confirm alignment and orientation before committing.
- Peel the protective film from the 3M adhesive backing on the first piece. Position carefully over the button surround and press firmly for 10–15 seconds, working from the centre outward to eliminate air pockets.
- Repeat for the remaining three pieces. Apply consistent pressure across the full surface of each frame.
- Allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours before heavy use or exposure to direct sunlight where possible — this ensures maximum long-term bond strength.
⚠ Important: Do not apply in temperatures below 10°C (50°F) as adhesive performance may be reduced in cold conditions.
