Fitting a new front grille is the single most impactful exterior upgrade you can make to a Range Rover Vogue L460 — and it is considerably more straightforward than most owners expect. Our carbon grille is a direct OEM replacement, which means no cutting, no drilling, and no permanent modification to your vehicle.
This guide walks through the complete installation process from start to finish. Allow around 90 minutes working carefully, and you'll have a result that's indistinguishable from a factory fitment. If you'd prefer professional installation, any Land Rover specialist will be familiar with this type of job — call us on +44 203 943 9919 and we can recommend someone in your area.
Range Rover L460 Carbon Grille
Genuine hand-laid carbon fibre. High-gloss UV-resistant lacquer. Direct OEM replacement fit for the Range Rover Vogue L460 (2022+). No modification required.
What you'll need
Tools and materials
- Plastic trim removal tool — available from any motor factor for under £5. Do not use a metal screwdriver — it will crack the factory grille clips.
- Torx T20 screwdriver or bit — for the two inner corner fixing screws
- Clean microfibre cloth — for wiping down the aperture before fitting
- Nitrile gloves (recommended) — carbon fibre edges can be sharp, and gloves also prevent fingerprints on the new grille face
- Torch or phone light — useful when locating the inner screws from below
Step-by-step installation
Remove the two inner fixing screws
With the bonnet open, look into the grille aperture at each inner corner — you will find a Torx T20 screw recessed into the surround. These are the primary fixings and must come out before the clip system will release. Remove both screws and keep them safe — you won't need them for the new grille, but it's good practice to retain them.
Release the top edge clips
Starting at the centre of the top edge, insert your plastic trim tool between the grille surround and the bodywork and gently lever toward you. Work from the centre outward to both sides, releasing each clip in turn. Apply steady, horizontal pressure — the clips are designed to release this way, not by pulling straight out. You should hear a gentle click as each one releases.
Release the lower edge clips
With the top clips released, the grille will hinge slightly forward. Work along the lower edge in the same way — centre outward — releasing the lower clips. The lower clips on the L460 are slightly firmer than the top ones, so apply a little more pressure if needed. Do not force them — patient, even pressure will always release them cleanly.
Remove the factory grille
With all clips released, the factory grille should lift cleanly out of the aperture. Set it aside carefully — even if you no longer need it, keeping it means you always have the option to revert to standard specification if you ever sell the car.

Clean the grille aperture
With the factory grille removed, wipe down the aperture edges and the surface where the new grille will contact the bodywork. Remove any debris, dust, or residue from the clip channels. This takes two minutes but makes a meaningful difference to the quality of the final fit. This is also a good moment to clean any accumulated road debris from the front of the radiator if needed.
Dry fit the new carbon grille
Before committing to installation, hold the new carbon grille in the aperture and check the fit at all four corners. It should sit flush with the surrounding bodywork with consistent gaps on all sides. Take note of how the grille aligns — especially at the corners. If one side sits proud, check that the lower positioning lugs are correctly located before applying pressure to the clips.
Seat the lower clips first
Lower the new grille into the aperture and engage the lower clips first — these set the height reference for the entire grille. Press firmly inward at each lower clip position until you feel them engage. The lower edge of the carbon grille should now sit flush with the top of the front bumper. Check this before moving to the top edge.
Press home the top edge clips
With the lower edge seated, hinge the top of the grille into the aperture. Working from the centre outward to both sides, press each top clip home with firm, even pressure. Start from the centre — this prevents the grille from racking as the clips engage. You should hear a satisfying click as each clip seats. Do not use excessive force; if a clip is resisting, check the lower edge is still fully seated and try again.
Final check and close the bonnet
Close the bonnet carefully and step back from the car. Check the grille from directly in front, from both three-quarter angles, and from a lower viewpoint. It should sit flush with consistent gaps at all edges, and the carbon weave should run consistently across both halves of the grille. Open and close the bonnet once more to confirm the bonnet latch clears the grille face with comfortable clearance.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Using a metal tool on the clips — metal tools will crack the plastic clip housings and potentially mark the bodywork. A plastic trim tool costs less than £5 and makes this job clean and easy.
- Starting with the top clips before removing the screws — the two T20 inner screws must come out first. Attempting to release the clips with the screws still in will damage both the clips and the screw threads.
- Skipping the dry fit — always check alignment before committing the clips. Two minutes of dry fitting prevents the situation where you've seated three clips and then noticed the grille is misaligned.
- Applying pressure from the wrong direction — the clips release and engage horizontally, not vertically. Pressing or pulling in the wrong direction stresses the clip rather than engaging it.
- Rushing the lower clip seating — the lower clips set the reference for everything else. If they're not fully seated, the top edge won't align correctly no matter how much you adjust.
Caring for your carbon grille
The high-gloss lacquer coating on the Victorious carbon grille is UV-stable and designed to withstand normal washing, driving rain, and stone chips. To keep it looking its best over the long term:
- Use a pH-neutral car shampoo — avoid acidic or alkaline cleaners that can dull the lacquer over time
- Avoid abrasive compounds, brushes, or sponges on the carbon face — a soft microfibre wash mitt is ideal
- Apply a light ceramic spray detailer every 2–3 months to maintain the gloss and provide additional UV protection
- If stone chips occur on the lacquer, treat them promptly with a clear lacquer touch-up pen to prevent moisture ingress
What to fit next
With the carbon grille in place, the natural next upgrades that work with it are the carbon fibre mirror covers (£138 — the carbon theme carried through to the side profile) and the carbon fibre front lip splitter (£699.99 — completes the front bumper treatment beneath the grille). Together these three pieces create a cohesive front-end carbon package that transforms the entire front third of the car.
