- Open the Defender 110 tailgate fully and ensure the interior panel surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or wax residue. Use an isopropyl alcohol wipe for best results.
- Dry-fit the carbon fiber panel against the tailgate trim area to confirm alignment and positioning before committing to adhesive contact.
- Peel back a small section of the adhesive backing tape, align one edge of the panel carefully, and press firmly into position.
- Gradually peel the remaining backing tape whilst pressing the panel flat against the surface — work from the centre outward to avoid trapping air bubbles.
- Apply firm, even pressure across the entire panel surface for 30–60 seconds. Allow the adhesive to cure for at least 2 hours before loading the vehicle.
⚠ Note: Do not install in temperatures below 10°C / 50°F — cold conditions reduce adhesive bond strength. Ensure the surface is completely dry before application. Once bonded, avoid removing and re-applying the panel as this may compromise adhesive performance.
