- Open the rear tailgate and thoroughly clean the rear bumper sill edge with an isopropyl alcohol wipe. Remove all dust, wax, and grease from the contact area and allow to dry completely.
- Dry-fit the stainless steel scuff plate against the bumper to confirm alignment. The plate should sit flush and centred across the full width of the rear sill.
- Starting from the centre, peel back the first section of the protective film on the adhesive backing — do not remove it all at once.
- Press the centre of the plate firmly onto the bumper, then work outward toward each end, peeling and pressing in stages to avoid air pockets or misalignment.
- Once fully positioned, apply firm, even pressure along the entire length of the plate for at least 60 seconds to activate the adhesive bond.
- Leave the vehicle undisturbed for a minimum of 24 hours before loading the vehicle or exposing the rear sill to heavy contact — this allows the adhesive to fully cure.
⚠ Note: Do not install in temperatures below 10°C (50°F) as cold conditions reduce adhesive effectiveness. For best results, install in a dry, ambient-temperature environment. Avoid washing the vehicle for 48 hours post-installation.
