⏱ Estimated Time: 20–30 minutes · 🔧 Difficulty: Easy (No Tools Required)
- Park your Defender on a level surface and allow the exterior to reach ambient temperature — avoid installation in direct sunlight or below 10°C for optimal adhesive performance.
- Thoroughly clean both A-pillar surfaces using an isopropyl alcohol (IPA) wipe or panel prep solution. Remove all wax, polish residue, dust, and moisture before proceeding.
- Dry-fit each trim piece against the A-pillar without removing the adhesive backing. Confirm alignment, contour match, and overall positioning before committing.
- Peel back the adhesive liner on the trim piece and carefully align one end of the trim with the base of the A-pillar. Work upward, pressing firmly along the full length of the trim to ensure full contact with the adhesive.
- Apply sustained hand pressure along the entire trim for 30–60 seconds to activate the adhesive bond. Pay particular attention to any curved or edge sections.
- Repeat for the opposite side. Allow 24 hours cure time before exposing the vehicle to rain, car washes, or pressure washing.
⚠ Important: Do not attempt installation over wet, dirty, or freshly waxed paintwork. Insufficient surface preparation is the primary cause of adhesive failure. If surface temperatures are outside the 10°C–35°C range, allow the vehicle to acclimatise before applying. For vehicles with paint protection film (PPF) on the A-pillars, test adhesive compatibility on a small hidden area first.
