- Confirm your Defender L663 is fitted with OE factory roof rails prior to beginning installation. This rack requires the original equipment rails to mount correctly.
- Clean the roof rail mounting points with a dry cloth to remove any debris, dust, or moisture before fitting.
- Position the roof rack centrally over the vehicle roof, aligning the mounting brackets with the OE rail slots on both sides of the vehicle.
- Hand-tighten all mounting hardware into position first, ensuring the rack sits level and symmetrically before applying full torque.
- Using the supplied fixings and a torque wrench or socket set, fully tighten all mounting points to the values specified in the included installation instructions.
- Perform a gentle shake test once fully tightened to confirm there is no movement or play in the rack before loading.
- Re-check all mounting points after your first 50 miles of driving and periodically thereafter, especially after off-road use or heavy loading.
⚠ Important: This roof rack requires OE factory-fitted roof rails for correct installation. Vehicles without original equipment roof rails will require rails to be fitted first. Do not exceed the maximum roof load rating stated in your Defender L663 owner's manual. Overloading can affect vehicle handling and void warranty coverage.
