- Ensure your Defender is parked on a level surface with the bonnet fully open and supported. Allow the engine to cool completely before beginning work.
- Using a plastic trim removal tool, carefully prise the existing factory bonnet vent slats from their mounting clips. Work from one end to the other to avoid cracking the surrounding trim.
- Clean the recess area thoroughly with a microfibre cloth to remove any dust, debris, or residue before fitting the new vents.
- Align the new high gloss black bonnet vent with the factory mounting points, ensuring the orientation matches the original fitment.
- Apply firm, even pressure along the vent to engage all retaining clips. You should hear an audible click at each point as the vent seats correctly.
- Repeat the process for the second vent on the opposite side of the bonnet.
- Once both vents are fitted, close the bonnet gently and inspect the alignment from the front. Adjust if necessary before driving.
